imprisoned monkey
Kaohsiung, Taiwan
December, 2003
The Kaohsiung Zoo is on Monkey Mountain. The actual name of the large hill is Shou Shan, but foreigners typically call it Monkey Mountain because... it packed with monkeys.
To be exact, it is packed with Formosan Rock Monkeys. The monkey in this cage is a Formosan Rock Monkey. I was perplexed as to why they felt it necessary to imprison this animal when a quick walk out of the zoo and up the mountain would reveal dozens of animals almost exactly the same as this one.
