sleepy daddy
between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland

We were on a 14 hour ferry ride to Newfoundland. I wanted something to photograph. This couple with their child were sitting near us. When the father fell asleep, with the baby on his lap, I desperately wanted a picture.

It took me a while to work up the courage to pull out my camera and take the pic because I was self-conscious of the mother, who was still awake.

I absolutely love the kid's face, as he looks straight at me, while the mother was then staring off into the distance.
